CASBS AND DESERT
(4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS)
4x4 EXPEDITION
Day 1: Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate
We leave the hotel in Marrakech and head to Ouarzazate. We go through the Tichka Pass, follow the caravan route and visit the Telouet Kasbah. On the way, we will see the Ounila Valley and stop in the town of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After his visit, we will set off along the film route towards Ouarzazate. There we will visit film studios known for many Hollywood blockbusters.
Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Zagora – Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge
After breakfast, we go to a palm grove and one of the largest cities in the Dara desert valley - Zagora. We reach the Dades Valley, also known as the Valley of Roses or the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. We visit the city of Kelâa M'gouna, the capital of roses, and the traditional Berber village of Ait-Youl. We see the Dades Gorges, which cannot be missed. Then we return to Boumalne and continue to Tineghir. We finish the day with a walk around the Todra gorges.
Day 3: Todra Gorge – Tineghir – Merzouga
We visit Tineghir, a Jewish district known for its traditional architecture and a palm grove that stretches for 15 km. We stop in Jorf, where there is an old irrigation canal. We arrive in Merzouga, from where we ride camels to the Sahara to see the sunset on the hot dunes.
Dinner and overnight stay in the dune oasis of Erg Chebi.
Day 4: Merzouga – Tamnougalte – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After sunrise, after breakfast, we set off through Tafilalt and the vastness of the mineral Bougafer Massif to Alnif and Tazzarine. From Tansikht, the trail leads through palm groves and oases into the Dra valley to Tamnougalt, a former caravan camp, and then Agdz, where we will see a typical Moroccan market.
From there, through Ouarzazate and the Tizi-n-Tinffift pass, we return to Marrakech.
